World 1: Town of Walz
Welcome to the rather wet Town of Walse. Walse’s citizens are aglow about their fabulous water system and the benefits they reap from the king’s use of the Water Crystal. They don’t have much else to talk about. They don’t even have a pub! Rather slow little town. But it’s merely a stopover before heading to the castle.
Inn & Item Shop
If you are weary, for a mere 20 gil you can sleep in the luxury of a dry cozy bed. If not, you can always purchase some curative herbs from the item merchant next to the innkeeper.
Weapon & Armor Shop
The weapon shop is a bit small. In it you’ll find a curious weapon you can’t equip yet, a Battle Axe. Buy one for the sake of ownership if you can afford it. It may come in handy later. The other two weapons are nothing new. If you need more of either, pick them up.
The armory is slightly more exciting. It stocks iron regalia. Though it is heavy, it’s better than the bronze you donned back in Carwen. The Kenpo Gi is nice armor for a newbie thief, raising their str by one point.
Magic Shop
The stupid magic shop doesn’t carry anything you can use! It has a nice beginning set of time magic and summon magic. If you can’t afford them all now, wander about outside until you can, or come back a bit later. You don’t acquire the jobs that utilize the magic until after the Tower of Walse. So if, unlike me, you are patient, wait until after visiting the Tower to buy the magic.
Treasure
Walse’s only treasure may seem a bit lackluster if you were a good little thief back on North Mountain. Take the stairs into the water and wade over to the western-most house. You will find Silver Specs in a jar to the far right of the house. Thieves can’t be picky I suppose. You are stealing the poor guy’s glasses.
